Athletic HOF Inductees 2025
GREG JEFFERSON

Greg Jefferson, ’89 was multi-sport athlete at Springfield High School. He was a four-year varsity member of the Springfield High School Basketball Team. He was a three-year starter and one of the key pieces of the 1988 Central League Co-Champions. Greg received All Delco Honors for his 1988 and 1989 seasons. He was known for his high flying moves on the court and deadly three-point shooting and ended his high school basketball career with 1,251 points.
Greg was also a two-year Starter for the Cougar Football team. A fierce defense back and amazing talented quarterback. Leading the Cougars to 2nd place finish in the Central league in their 1988 season. He was also a 3-year letter award winner for the Cougar Track and Field program where he was the Central League High Jump Champion his senior season.
Greg attended Cheyney University and was a member of the Wolves Varsity program during his freshman year.
In his later years Greg (aka “G-Money”) joined the Media “Jumbo Johnson” Old and Slow Basketball League and became a perennial All-Star in the league which included former professional, semi-professional, college, high school and streetball legends from across the region. Known for his amazing long distance shooting prowess and sense of humor, Greg was one of the league’s most dynamic players and personalities.
Greg was also known for running training programs for local youth to adult men and women at LA Fitness. This involved weight and basketball-related skills training.
He was belovedly known as G. Greg passed away in 2025 and is survived by his two children.
KEITH BROOME

Keith Broome, a life-long Springfield resident is currently the head girls’ lacrosse coach at Springfield High school where his teams have complied a record of 515-115-7. He has guided his team to the PIAA district playoff 28 consecutive years. His teams have reached the district finals 17 times while winning eight titles. The girls’ lacrosse program has won the highly competitive Central League six times during his tenure. The Cougars have reached the PIAA state championship five times in the fifteen years that the state has recognized a state champion, winning the title twice in 2019 and 2025.
At Springfield, Broome has sent over a hundred female lacrosse players to the collegiate level. In addition to numerous US Lacrosse All Americans. He has been selected as the US Lacrosse Coach of the year in 2018 and 2023 and PIAA coach of the year in 2025.
Broome also was an assistant lacrosse coach on the 1992 Springfield High School boys undefeated state championship team. He continues to coach at the middle school where he is currently coach of the field hockey and girls’ basketball team. In addition to coaching, he was also the director of middle school athletics. During his tenure the school won five consecutive league sportsmanship titles a first for the district.
MYNESHIA MCKENZIE

MyNeshia McKenzie ’10 was a multi-sport athlete at Springfield High School. She was part of the basketball, volleyball and track teams while at Springfield. MyNeshia was named 1st team all Central and All Delco for basketball in 2009 and 2010. She was named the Central League MVP, 2nd team All State and a McDonald’s All-American nominee for basketball in 2010. During her senior year, the girls’ basketball team were Central League Champions with a 16-0 league record. For her career, MyNeshia finished as the 2nd all-time leading scorer in Springfield history with 1,193 points and over 600 rebounds.
In addition, MyNeshia earned all Central League honors in volleyball in her senior year and was named Springfield High School’s Best Female Athlete in 2010. She was one of the few Division 1 women’s basketball player from Springfield High School and was identified as the player of the decade by high school coaches.
After high school, MyNeshia became a standout player at Rider University. She left an indelible mark on the program, graduating in 2014 as the program’s all-time leading rebounder (1,143) and third-leading scorer (1,619). Her collegiate career was distinguished by three All-MAAC selections, including two First Team honors, a Third Team nod as a sophomore, and All-Rookie recognition as a freshman. She finished with 45 career double-doubles and ranked 16th nationally in rebounding during her senior season, averaging 19.5 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.
Following her collegiate career, MyNeshia excelled professionally overseas, earning All-Import and First-Team All-League honors in both Portugal with Boa Viagem and Romania with Phoenix Galati. She capped her professional tenure as the 2016 Forward of the Year, leading her teams in both scoring and rebounding.
After her playing career, MyNeshia transitioned into coaching. She began her basketball coaching career at Holy Family University, where she helped develop multiple All-Conference athletes, before spending two seasons at St. Joseph’s University. In 2021, she returned to Rider as an assistant coach and was elevated to Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator in 2024. Currently, MyNeshia is back in Delaware County as an Assistant Coach at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia.
STEVE ARMOR

Steve Armor ’07 was a standout wrestling athlete at Springfield High School. He was a four-year starter for the wrestling program and with a career record of 135-27 with 75 total pins and established a new county record for wins in a season with 43. He received all Central League and All Delco Honors for three of his four years at Springfield. He was named captain of the wrestling team his junior and senior seasons.
During his career Steve was a four-time District Qualifier, three-time section champion and regional qualifier. He was a two-time State Qualifier and placed 7th in the State Tournament his senior year. During his senior year Steve was named the Daily Times Wrestler of the Year and was 2nd Team All Southeastern PA. He also was a member of the Junior Olympic Wrestling Team in 2004-2007.
Steve went on to wrestle in college at Virginia Tech University. He wrestled his freshman year and had a record of 10-14 for the season.
Steve and his family currently reside in Springfield and he has worked with the high school wrestling program as an assistant coach.
