Athletic HOF Inductees 2024
ANDRE NELSON
A graduate of the class of 2006, Andre participated in football and track all four years at Springfield High School. Andre received all Delco honors in 2005 and 2006 for football and was a 2005 Athlete of the Year candidate. In 2006, he was the first Springfield High School football player to play in the Delaware County Hero Bowl and the PA East-West All Star Game.
In track Andre excelled setting Springfield High School records in the 60 and 200 meter indoor races and was a member of the 4x100 meter relay team which holds the Springfield High School record. In 2006 he participated in the PIAA Track and Field Championships and finished 2nd in the 100 meter and 8th in the 200 meter races while setting records for Springfield High School.
Andre attended Valley Forge Military Academy and Morgan State University after high school and played football. He received 1st Team all Conference in 2008 and 2009 while at Valley Forge playing defensive back and special teams. After Valley Forge Andre played at Morgan State University where he played wide receiver and special teams. Andre passed away in 2024 and is survived by his wife and two children.
Brad Warner
Brad Warner ’97 was a multi-sport athlete at Springfield High School. He was senior captain for both the football and baseball teams, He also wrestled and ran indoor track. He received All Area, All Central League and All Delco Honors for baseball and football.
He went on to play baseball at Stockton University where he is still the all-time leader in career triples. He earned numerous honors including catcher of the Decade(1990’s) and all Mid-Atlantic honors.
Brad and his family currently live in Springfield, he enjoys helping coach his kids and works in finance.
Julianna Jeffers
Julianna Jeffers '07 was a multi-sport athlete at Springfield High School. She was a part of the soccer, swimming, and lacrosse teams all four years while at Springfield. Julianna was a four year letter earner and led the lacrosse team to three District 1 Championships in 2004, 2006, and 2007 (at the time recognized as the state championship). During her time as a team member she was voted to be the varsity team captain in 2006 and 2007. She was named a 1st team All-American in 2007, as well as 1st team All Delaware County in '06 and '07, 1st team All Central League in '06 and '07, and 1st team News of Delaware County in '05, '06, and '07. In addition, she was recognized as an All Delaware County and All Central League 2nd team member in 2005. Julianna led the team in scoring in '05, '06, and '07. She led the team in draw controls in '06 and '07. She was also a 3x defensive starter and member of the varsity soccer team and 2x member of the varsity swimming and diving team. She earned All Central league honorable mention for the 50 meter freestyle event. After graduating from Springfield, she continued on to the University of Delaware and earned a letter all 4 years as an attacker for the Blue Hens. She was voted as a CAA All Rookie team member in 2008 and to the All CAA 2nd team in 2011. She led the team in scoring in both 2010 and 2011. Julianna and her family currently reside in Rock Hill, SC.
LOIS CAROCCI
Coach Carocci graduated from Upper Darby High School and attended West Chester University. At both institutions Coach Carocci was very active in sports. She played field hockey, lacrosse, ran track and found time to play clarinet in the high school band while at Upper Darby. In her sports playing time she played U.S. field hockey and lacrosse, fast-pitch softball, basketball, and ran with a track club in Delaware. She also enjoyed playing golf.
After teaching for three years in Delaware, Coach Carocci began her teaching and coaching career in Springfield at E. T. Richardson Middle School in 1967. While at Springfield Coach Carocci coached high school field hockey and lacrosse. She would coach more years in field hockey than in lacrosse coaching field hockey from 1979 - 1986. The field hockey teams of 1979 and 1980 were undefeated and were Central League champions. After ending her coaching career at the high school Coach Carocci was named Athletic Director at the middle school. A position she held until her retirement in 1995.
During her coaching tenure Coach Carocci coached several players who were named to the All Central league team and players who went on to play in college. When asked to name some of her outstanding players Coach Carocci would quickly reply all her players were outstanding
athletes. She taught her student/athletes about effort, teamwork, conduct on and off the field, representing the Cougars and themselves. Coach Carocci passed away in June 2006 and is survived by her husband Al.
