Athletic HOF Inductees 2018
Greg Gurenlian
A graduate of the class of 2002, Greg Gurenlian was a multi-sport athlete at Springfield High School excelling in soccer and lacrosse. He was a four year participant in both sports and received MVP honors his senior year in both sports. He went on to an impressive tenure at Penn State University for lacrosse earning 2 time all East Coast Athletic Conference and team MVP honors. Greg was drafted in 2002 by the Rochester Rattlers from the Professional Men’s Major Lacrosse League and currently plays for the Long Island Lizards franchise.
Jim Hardy
James Hardy ’86 was a standout basketball player at Springfield. He was a three year starter who played forward for the Cougars and was a first team All Delco selection. Hardy earned a scholarship to Division I Drexel University, where he was a four year Varsity player, making him one of five Springfield basketball players to play at the DI level.
Aly Adams
Aly Adams ’08 was a two sport standout athlete at Springfield. She played volleyball and lacrosse during her high school career and was named the 2008 female athlete of the year. She served as the volleyball captain in 2008 and earned all Central and all Delco honors. Aly was also captain of the 2008 lacrosse team and earned all Central and all Delco honors and was a member of the 2007 and 2008 District 1 lacrosse championship teams. She continued her lacrosse career at Penn State where she played midfield. Aly currently resides in North Carolina and teaches physical education.
Jackie Eastman Grenier
Jackie Eastman Grenier ’07 was a three sport standout female athlete at Springfield. Jackie played soccer, basketball and lacrosse all fours year while at Springfield. Her lacrosse career included District 1 titles in 2004, 2006 and 2007 and was a four varsity letter earner. She received all Central honors and was named 1st team all Delco in 2006 and 2007 and was named Delco Player of the Year in 2007. Jackie continued her lacrosse career at Penn State University where she played midfield and defense. Jackie currently resides in Springfield with her husband and is a physical therapist.
William Faulkner
William Faulkner ’56 was a three sport standout male athlete at Springfield. He played football, basketball and baseball while at Springfield. Bill was recognized as the male athlete of the year in 1956 and was named to the all Delco team in 1956 for football and baseball. He was also captain of the baseball and basketball teams his senior year. In 1956, Bill was recognized as the by the Delco Coaches Association as the Outstanding Athlete Award for baseball. He attended Pennsylvania Military College and Villanova University. He went on to be a high school teacher and held various administrative positions over his professional career. Bill currently resides in Coatesville PA.
