Stuart G. Carslaw - Class of 1960

A graduate of the class of 1960, Stu Carslaw was a member of the varsity baseball,football and basketball teams; selected to represent the baseball and football teams as captain in his senior year. He was selected as Springfield’s Outstanding Athlete of the Year in 1960, most valuable player of the Thanksgiving Day Game in 1959 and Best Male Athlete of his class.

Stu's family residence as a child was on Sedgewood Road and lived on Rambling Way for 43 years. He is survived by his daughter, Vickie, his son, Stu, and six granddaughters; Meghan, Kasey, Kerry, Julia, Marissa and Shauna. Stu was predeceased by his son, Bill.


Jonathan Hardy - Class of 1990

A graduate of the class of 1990, Jonathan Hardy was a member of the varsity football and track teams. He was quarterback for the 1989 undefeated Central League football team. Jon went on to attend Wesley College where he played football as a strong safety and punter and was an All American candidate in 1992. Jon has served as a counselor for the Glen Mills School and a sales representative for Verizon.


Shana Goane Foody - Class of 1996

A graduate of the class of 1996, Shana Goane Foody was a member of the varsity soccer (3 years), basketball (4 years) and softball (4 years) teams. She was co-captain for the 1995-96 basketball team. Shana played soccer at Ursinus College for two years and basketball for four years. Since graduation from Ursinus she has taught high school math and coached high school basketball.


Kay Long Teese - CLass of 1976

A graduate of the class of 1976, Kay Long Teese was a member of the varsity field hockey, basketball and lacrosse teams. She served as co-captain of the 1975-76 basketball team and was recognized as the Outstanding Female Athlete during her senior year. Kay attended Bucknell University where she played field hockey, basketball and lacrosse earning 16 varsity letters. While playing at Bucknell University, she was named to Mideast Region all-star teams in multiple years for multiple sports. She earned Deans List Honors all four years at Bucknell University. Kay has worked professionally as a mechanical engineer and project manager for Savana River Plant in Aiken South Carolina.


Carolyn Casey Gabel - Class of 1986

A graduate of the class of 1986, Carolyn Casey Gabel was a member of the varsity field hockey, basketball and softball teams. She earned ten varsity letters and was named All Delco and All Central in three sports. Carolyn attended Rider University and played basketball and volleyball and was recognized for the Dean’s List and National Honors – Phi Beta Kappa for Academics. She graduated from Widener University School of Law in 1993 and serves as a Vice-President and Counselor for a regional insurance broker.
