Junior high field hockey and basketball. senior high tennis Coached from 1959 to 1976; teacher of the year; undefeated several seasons. Played All-Philadelphia field hockey; Temple University Hall of Fame, outstanding athlete and scholar.


GLENN MALLON - Class of 1982

Soccer. Basketball. Lacrosse - Outstanding Male Athlete, Soccer, captain, Central League and District Champions, honorable mention All-Central junior year, All-Central senior year; Basketball captain, '81 and '82 Central League champions, '81 Eastern Regional champions '82 Eastern Regional finalists, honorable mention AII-Central senior year; Lacrosse Central League Champions '81 and '82, State Champs '82, honorable mention All-Central senior year; 9 varsity letters. Millersville lacrosse captain junior and senior years. District Coordinator for Athletics.


PIFFY McGUIGAN - Class of 1985

Cross Country. Winter Track. Spring Track - Cross Country All-Delco 4 years, All-Central 4 years, Districts 4 years, States 4 years, still holds SHS record at Rose Tree; Track All-Delco 3 years, All-Central 3 years, Districts 3 years, school records in 1600,3200, 800.


DAVE FREAS - Class of 1967

Football. Baseball- Baseball captain; Section 2 Champs '65, '66, '57; Football captain; First team All-Delco '66; Varsity Key Award (5 letters), Senior Service Award.


BETH FARNESE HJARTNES - Class of 1978

Field Hockey. Gymnastics. Track and Field - Field Hockey co-captain, district champions; Gymnastics MVP 4 years, 4 years Districts and States, 3rd in State Floor Exercise; Track and Field Nat'l high jump champ '74, district high jump record 2 years, district and school records in triple-jump, state qualifier; 10 varsity letters. Coached high school and college gymnastics; PIAA head official girls' gymnastics.


BILL TURNER - CLass of 1948

Football. Basketball. Track - Football honorable mention All-Delco; Basketball captain; Track 220 District I champ, 3rd at States, school record. Drexel University football and track.


MICHAEL STUMPF - Class of 1985

Football. Basketball. Track. Baseball- 12 varsity letters; Football 3 years starting quarterback, 1st team All-Delco, 2nd team All-Central, 2nd team East Delco, first quarterback to pass 1000 yards 3 consecutive years, MVP 2 years, co-captain; Basketball co-captain, 4 letters; Track, Outstanding distance runner at SHS 3 years, District mile 3 years, 2 mile relay record team '83; Indoor track 2 mile Delco Champ, team state qualifier 2 mile relay (indoor SHS record).


GARRY RIVELL - CLass of 1964

Football. Wrestling. Track - Football quarterback first undefeated team '62, captain '63, 2nd team All-Delco; Wrestling undefeated in dual meets senior year; Track Delco Decathlon '64 (2nd place); Outstanding Male Athlete. University of Massachusetts football, wrestling; coached freshmen football. Officiated high school wrestling, officiated high school and college lacrosse, football scout for SHS.
