In support of Philadelphia's place as a national leader in democracy and justice, Citizen Diplomacy will honor Robert A. Swift as Citizen Diplomat of the Year at the Citizens Soirée: A Dinner for Diplomacy on June 6, 2019.
Swift is a pioneer in human rights litigation, renown for securing justice for victims of human rights abuses, including people murdered during the Holocaust; people tortured and disappeared by former president of the Philippines, Ferdinand E. Marcos; and Korean forced laborers from World War II. Read a full bio of Swift's passionate career and his own writings on the groundbreaking 1986 case against Marcos.
Proceeds for this event support the Sister Cities program and international exchanges for the Philadelphia region benefiting 80 Philadelphia high school students and over 1,200 international exchange visitors each year. Join us as we celebrate Citizen Diplomacy's 65th year as we honor Robert Swift and highlight Philadelphia's place as a national leader for human rights, rule of law and free press.
