Cougars, Let's Band Together during this Difficult Time

The Springfield Area Educational Foundation Needs You, Please!

Fellow Cougars & Supporters,

Now more than ever, we are so grateful for our alumni, sponsors and supporters who have funded, volunteered, celebrated and advocated for the Springfield Area Educational Foundation (SAEF) through the years.  At a time when everything feels uncertain, we find comfort and encouragement knowing you care about our mission – supporting the meaningful academic, artistic and athletic programs of all Springfield School District students.

While most of the community work slows down, our mission of enhancing the educational lives for our Springfield & Morton students & teachers, will not be placed on pause.  That's why we are asking you to donate, and support our upcoming events and consider a contribution to SAEF today.

Why Your Gift Is Important!

As the safest, simplest, and most effective way to support our teachers and students, your gift can help our educators as they adapt to the ever-changing environment due to COVID-19.  This year, our school district will be reopening under very different circumstances which need additional funding.    An example: Many students are left to their own technical devices now – and our students continue to need chrome books to succeed at learning from home and at school.  Chrome books also allow our students to work on assignments and allow them to ask teachers questions about material they do not understand.

As our school district considers how and when to reopen buildings during the pandemic, we may be overwhelmed by the potential expenses that come with operating under the recommended social distancing guidelines.

Besides the mentioned chrome books-- protective equipment and sanitizers, staff for smaller classrooms, and additional transportation to keep students distanced on bus rides will strain our district budget that is bracing for additional cuts due to the economic downturn.

You Do Make a Real Difference!

While all of us are facing challenges at this time, we hope that you can find a bright spot knowing that you have assisted a Springfield student or teacher with a real need because of your generosity.

On behalf of us at SAEF, thank you for being a part of our Springfield family & community.  We wish you and your family good health, safety, and happiness and want you to know that together, we can overcome many challenges.

If you care to donate - checks are payable to SAEF & can be mailed to:  SAEF, COVID 19 Fund, 111 West Leamy Avenue, Springfield, PA 19064, or go to https://www.saef.net/donate online.   (SAEF Development Office – 610-938-6034, jan.griesemer@saef.net)

Best,
